Shopping at Costco

A and I went to Costco last week and we filmed a haul and a taste test!

I feel like Costco is addicting, I want to go back again! I love how every time you go it's a little bit different! I also like the some of the food like the cheeses are definitely cheaper at Costco opposed to regular supermarkets, and there are some things which you can only find there. Some of the things I like to get there are:
  • Chicken Alfredo pasta bake
  • Mission round tortilla chips
  • Stripped coconut water
What things do you like to get from Costco? Do you think that it's worth it?

I drew a cat

I just drew a cat on MediBang Paint. It's nice and round so it's pretty cute haha

I like cats :) Are you a cat person? Dog person? Person?

Testing out MediBang Paint

Today I tried out MediBang Paint! It's a free drawing app for apple and android. I recently bought myself an iPad Pro with an Apple Pencil and I've been very excited!

To see me using MediBang Paint please watch my speedpaint on YouTube!

Here is the finished drawing:

Do you draw? Are you more of a traditional art sort of person, or digital? Or both?

What's in my garden

I've recently just got into gardening and lots of things are happening which is pretty exciting! If you'd like to have a little tour of my balcony garden please watch my YouTube video.

I bought most of my gardening supplies from Bunnings:

And I bought my bamboo ladder from K-Mart!

At the moment I'm most excited about my passionfruit vine - I think it's because I just got the ladder.

Do any of you guys do gardening? If so, what are you growing at the moment?

Black Rice

Recently I went to Costco with my friend A. We found some black rice we both decided to buy it. It's by the brand Forbidden and you can buy it online here.
A normally mixes it with another rice when she cooks it so I decided to follow suit - I mixed one cup of black rice with one cup of medium grain rice.
I popped it in my Tiger rice cooker, not really expecting much... and it turned into the most beautiful purple and black rice!

It has an amazing nutty texture which I love because it provides a slight bite and chew. It's also high in fibre and has more protein than white and brown rice. As with many other brightly coloured foods such as blueberries and goji berries, its high in antioxidants.
I think that I will continue to mix it with my white rice for now, at least until I get used to it, but so far I'm enjoying it.
Have you ever tried black rice? Do you eat it straight or do you mix it with different rice?

Knitting a baby blanket

At the moment I'm knitting a baby blanket for my friend's cute baby girl! It was supposed to be a Christmas present however seeing as Christmas has just passed and I'm not even halfway done knitting it, it'll just have to be a normal present. Not that there is anything wrong with giving presents just because. In fact, I think it's almost better!

The pattern is by Caron (Brenda Lewis): Irish Eyes Baby Blanket
The yarn used is Caron Simply Soft: Victorian Rose

Here is how I'm going at the moment:

I hope that I get it done by the end of the year!
What projects are you working on at the moment? What do you think of the colour for a girl's baby blanket? I was torn between this and a light ballerina pink.
